Our Beginnings

The Logan Village Soccer Club was formed in 1993 to compete in the BSDJSA competition in 1994. We commenced playing on the Beaudesert Shire Council grounds which is now the Village Green. The grounds were small, hard, and unsuitable for playing soccer, shared with other community events and the Club desperately needed new grounds in which to grow. In 1994, after the Council elections, members of the Committee and the new local Councillor investigated several Council lands around Logan Village.

The Big River Country Park was eventually selected as providing greater scope for growth, despite being overgrown and further away from Waterford-Tamborine Road. Beaudesert Shire Council drew up a Concept Plan for development of the park, obtained Town Planning approval, cleared the land were needed (leaving as many large trees as possible), established drainage and a dam, and built a gravel driveway and car park.

Built By Our Members

The Club was in dire need of a Clubhouse and rather than establishing tin sheds, members of the Club committed to providing the labour to build a large clubhouse. Beaudesert Shire Council provided $60,000 towards public toilets (included within the building), the Club used this and the funds already spent on the grounds to obtain a $50,000 grant from the Dept of Sport & Recreation. Using the $110,000 cash, Club members established a contract with Council to build the Clubhouse. Over the next 12 months, Club members gave up their weekends to build the Clubhouse.  The Club should always be proud of the dedication and effort put in by the early members who physically built the Clubhouse.

Official Opening

The Clubhouse was officially opened in 1997. In 2009 the committee at the time decided on a name change to reflect the different sports being  offered, and we are now known as Logan Village Falcons All Sports. Over the years the club has been improving the facilities, with grants from Sport & Rec, Community Gambling Benefit Fund, Logan City Council & Logan Country Community Bank These grants have assisted with the Canteen Upgrade, Clubhouse Security, Screens & Shade Shelters, training for our volunteers ( coaching, first aid & RSA ), new mover, Tennis Courts, Main Field Lighting Upgrade to match standards, field lighting for SSF Fields, Main Field Irrigation and a scoreboard for the main field.
